President gets familiarized with Astana's 'green belt' development
ASTANA. June 22. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ Today Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev visited vicinity of the city of Astana and got acquainted with the course of Astana's "green zone" creation.
"There was set a task on a forest planting around the capital. Specialists told me that there are salinate fields and nothing will grow", N.Nazarbayev said.
Within the working trip in 2009 President Nursultan Nazarbayev urged the Ministry of Agriculture to expand forest plantations near the Shortandy village.
"It is a huge territory. It is territory of three-four rural municipalities. Besides, within the "Zhassyl el" program Kazakhstan's youth plants 51,000 ha of forest countrywide every year, and we planted 70,000 ha since 1997", the President resumed.
There appeared flora around Astana, the process of fauna development is underway.
According to the Head of the State, all these create such symbiosis. The forest around Astana is the 'lungs' of the capital.
