President expressed confidence SCO anniversary will be marked with development of far-reaching plans, S. Lavrov
ASTANA. May 13. KAZINFORM Today Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has received in Almaty Foreign Affairs Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov, the Presidential press service reports.
The parties focused on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and forthcoming jubilee Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana.
At the meeting with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev we debated the preparations for the SCO Summit set for June 15 in Astana with the participation of the presidents of the SCO member states and observer states.
"President Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed confidence that the SCO Summit will be inaugurated with the development of new and far-reaching plans on deepening of our cooperation in all the areas of the SCO activity, including security, economic development and humanitarian ties. We will try tomorrow to realize the intense agenda in order to get ready for the top-level meeting in Astana on June 15 this year," S. Lavrov told a briefing.
