Presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE gives opportunity to promote regional dialogue – seminar in Almaty
ALMATY. September 16. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ The necessity of deepening regional and transnational cooperation is increasing. The OSCE is playing a very important role in this sphere. Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Bulat Sembinov has said it today at the Seminar on combating illicit trafficking in small arms and light weapons in Central Asia in Almaty.
'The presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE is giving such an opportunity to promote regional dialogue and establish new practical links in this sphere between different organizations such as the CSTO, SCO and CICA', B. Sembinov said.
According to him interaction between regional organizations will help establish stable and effective security structure in Central Asia. 'This process has already started, agreements and memorandums are signed, meetings and consultations are held and this seminar is a good proof of it', he emphasized.
B. Sembinov reminded that Kazakhstan started preparation for holding the OSCE Summit in December of this year. One of the topics of the Summit will be the attention drawn to the problems of security and cooperation within the OSCE. 'According to the President of our country the OSCE should turn into Euro-Asian organization from Euro-Atlantic one therefore ensuring European security cannot be executed without counting on Asian zone', Mr. Sembinov noted.
