Presentation and First Meeting of the Istanbul Club
ASTANA. April 22. KAZINFORM Today the Institute of Eurasia of the Istanbul University (Istanbul, Turkey) will hold the First Meeting of the Istanbul Club.
The establishment of the Istanbul Club was initiated by the Russian, Turkish and Kazakh experts. Uniting the experts, politicians and scientists focusing on national interest and traditional values of their countries, the Istanbul Club will become an intellectual platform for discussing the issues of strategic partnership of Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and Central Asian states.
Being a dialogue platform, the Club focuses on a wide range of topics of world politics and ideology and expects to see the leading experts in its further activity.
The initiators of the Istanbul Club are:
Yuri Solozobov - Director for International Projects of the Russian National Strategy Institute, political scientist (Moscow, Russia),
Hayati Tüfekcioğlu - Director of the Institute of Eurasia, Istanbul University, Doctor of social sciences, professor (Istanbul, Turkey),
Botagoz Rakisheva - Director of CESSI-Kazakhstan Institute, publisher of "International Research. Society. Politics. Economics" journal, Candidate of social sciences (Astana, Kazakhstan).
According to the organizers of the event, the meeting of the Istanbul Club will be attended by Sergey Seliverstov - chief researcher of the Institute of History of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science, Candidate of historical sciences; Ainur Mazhitova - expert of the Institute for Socio-Political Research; Gulden Shalova - expert of the Institute for Socio-Political Research.
Within the First meeting of the Istanbul Club a presentation of the books by Yuri Solozobov on "Nazarbayev - Leader of Anti-Nuclear World" (Russia) and by Sergey Seliverstov on "Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey: Eurasianism in 19th-21st centuries" (Kazakhstan) will be held.
The members of the Club will be presented a special issue of "International Research. Society. Politics. Economics" journal devoted to the problem of Eurasianism. A special issue devoted to Turkey and the activity of the Istanbul Club is planned to be published.
The participants of the meeting will also be demonstrated the first series of a documentary film KAZAKHSTAN'S WAY: CHRONICLES OF INDEPENDENCE shot by the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, Korkem Film Company and Kazakhfilm JSC. The film will consist of 8 series which will show the history of formation of sovereign Kazakhstan. Yuri Solozobov is the co-author of the film.
Besides, a documentary film "Flame Burning Eternally" (23 min) created together with the Turkish scientists will be demonstrated during the meeting. Among the consultants of the film are: Professor Abdulvahap Kara - Mimar Sinan University, Doctor of Science in History, M. Shokay's heritage researcher (Istanbul, Turkey); Hayati Tüfekcioğlu - Director of the Institute of Eurasia of Istanbul University, Doctor of social sciences, professor (Istanbul, Turkey), Musa Taşdelen - Professor of the Sakarya University (Istanbul, Turkey), a press release reads.
