Preparation for presidential elections discussed in Shymkent

Secretary of the Central Election Commission Bakhyt Meldeshev informed that the process of putting forward candidatures for participation in the presidential elections in 2015 had already begun.

"The process of putting forward candidatures has begun. Presently, 5 candidatures have been put forward. Now, we check if the candidatures meet the norms of the Constitution of Kazakhstan and the Law "On elections". Then, they will have the right to begin collection of signatures," B. Meldeshev told.

According to him, it is important now to clearly understand the borders of the election precincts. This information will be provided by the mass media.

"International observers will be taking part in the preparation and holding of the elections. It will help transparency of the election process," B. Meldeshev added.
