Premiere of «Rodin» ballet by Boris Eifman to be held in «Astana Opera»
ASTANA. November 17. KAZINFORM - On November 22-23, premiere of the ballet “Rodin” by Boris Eifman will take place in “Astana Opera”. This was reported to astana.kz in the press service of the State opera and ballet theatre “Astana Opera”, Kazinform has learnt from astana.kz.
The ballet by Boris Eifman “Rodin” is dedicated to the life and creative work of the great sculptor Auguste Rodin and his apprentice, lover and muse, Camille Claudel. For 15 years Rodin and Claudel had been one sensual and creative body. But their breakup dealt a deathblow to Camille’s mental health and marked the beginning of her destruction. Almost forgotten, isolated from the outside world, vegetating in misery, Claudel went out of her mind. She spent 30 years in a mental asylum, where she died in 1943, forgotten and left by everyone.
“I want the ballet “Rodin” to evoke a warm response in hearts of Kazakh spectators and make them think of how tragic a life of an artist can be. I also hope that the premiere of this performance on the stage of “Astana Opera” will contribute to spiritual rapprochement of the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan”, - noted the author of the performance Boris Eifman.
