Pregnant woman with suspected measles infection hospitalized in Akmola region
A pregnant woman with a suspected measles infection was hospitalized in Kokshetau, Akmola region, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Chief state sanitary doctor of Akmola region Ainagul Mussina said the region started recording measles cases last April. 483 out of 604 suspected measles were confirmed. Of which 361 are children under 14 years old, including 70 babies under 12 months old, 188 are under 4 years old.
108 measles cases were confirmed this January. 13 cases were detected in children, 31 among toddlers from 1 to 4 years old.
Six measles cases were reported in kindergartens.
56 confirmed cases were detected the last week which is 16% more as compared to the previous week. Measles cases grew in Kokshetau, and Stepnogorsk cities and Shirtandy, Yereimentau, Zhaksy, Astrakhan, Akkol, Atbasar, and Zharkaiiyn districts.
As of January 17, 35 people as well as 23 kids were admitted to hospitals, and 86 are treated at home.
