Prague Club of the Berne Union meets in Kazakhstan

The main objective of our fund at present is to promote the growth of national wealth through increased long-term value of companies within the fund, and promote the modernization and diversification of the national economy," Deputy Chairman of Samruk Kazyna Fund Yelena Bakhmutova told opening the spring session of the Prague Club in Almaty.

"We understand that one of the most important factors for the successful implementation of these objectives is the development of foreign trade and the integration of our country in the world economy. One of the most effective and recognized in the world instruments of state support in this direction is to promote national exports with the help of specialized export credit agencies. In this regard, a subsidiary of our fund - KazExportGarant is making every effort for the implementation and adaptation of advanced mechanisms for financial and insurance support for Kazakhstan's non-oil exports, based on internationally accepted principles and agreements. We hope that this meeting will be held at a high level and become one of the most effective and memorable events in the history of the Prague Club, where participants can share experiences and find solutions to existing problem," she resumed.

The meeting brings together over 60 experts from 30 export credit agencies of the world, experts from the International Finance Corporation, representatives of Samruk Kazyna Fund and domestic banks. The main purpose of such working areas is to exchange experience in supporting national exports and investment, to discuss topical issues of financial and insurance sector and to develop appropriate recommendations.

The Prague Club was established in 1993 within the framework of the Berne Union. Today, the organization includes 33 export credit agencies, such as newly created, and the agency with long experience, - KUKE Poland, MEHIB Hungary, HBOR Croatia, ECIE United Arab Emirates and others. JSC "KazExportGarant" is a state development institution has the financial and insurance companies support the country's non-oil sector in order to expand the scope and geography of exports.
