Powerful earthquake strikes southern Philippines

A strong earthquake struck the Philippines on Friday, the US Geological Survey said, Anadolu reports.
It said the earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale hit Burias Island.
The earthquake, with a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), was reported at around 0814GMT.
According to the PHIVOLCS, the country’s institute for monitoring and mitigation of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunami, the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.2.
Earlier it was reported that the death toll had risen to 26 after a fire had broken out Thursday morning at a building of a coal mine company in north China's Shanxi Province.
