Postavy Dairy Factory eager to secure footing on Kazakhstan market

VITEBSK. KAZINFORM - Postavy Dairy Factory intends to secure footing on the market of Kazakhstan to where the company has already shipped the first batch of cheese (10 tonnes), BelTA learned from Valentin Pylinsky, Director of OAO Postavy Dairy Factory.

The executive stressed that thanks to the accomplished reconstruction campaign the company managed to increase cheese production by 13 times in 2014. Now the Postavy-based enterprise makes 20 tonnes of cheese daily. "We export about 80% of our cheese. We work with Russian retail chains that are pleased to buy our products," stressed Valentin Pylinsky. "We plan to expand the geography of export and has already shipped 10 tonnes of cheese to Kazakhstan. I think we have good chances and we will be able to secure footing on this market. We are considering shipping merchandise to Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia."

Speaking about cooperation with Russia, the executive noted that in January-March 2015 the company earned Br8 billion in profits largely thanks to export to the neighboring country.

According to the source, Postavy Dairy Factory's profitability of sales stands at 14.4%, with the production profitability at 15.5%.

Valentin Pylinsky added that cheese manufacturing is the core business of the enterprise and accounts for 70% of the total output. "We have commissioned a line to cut cheese. We offer slices, vacuum packaging, and we pack cheese into gas containers. We also sell the merchandise to Russian retail chains," stated the Director. Russian partners have no complaints about the quality of Belarusian products, always pay on time, and treasure their relations with the Postavy-based dairy manufacturer.

BelTA reported earlier that OAO Postavy Dairy Factory started building the cheese shop as part of the national dairy industry development program, which is designed to run in 2010-2015, BelTA reports.

The dairy factory in the Belarusian town of Postavy was established in 1939. The main kinds of merchandise include hard-pressed rennet cheese, semi-hard cheese, butter, whole milk products such as pasteurized milk, kefir, sour cream, cream, and desserts.
