Possibilities of cooperation b/w EU, Pacific Alliance discussed in Moscow
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Board of Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Viktor Khristenko has received the delegation of the Republic of Chile headed by Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz, the press service of the EEC informs.
Mr. Khristenko said that Chile was one of the first countries to express its interest in cooperation with EEC and the Eurasian Economic Community. EEC Board Chairman confirmed the readiness of the Eurasian Economic Community to develop trade and economic cooperation with the Republic of Chile. He stated that signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Commission and the Republic of Chile would be an important step for the further enhancement of collaboration. The Chilean side also confirmed its desire to deepen economic relations with the Eurasian Economic Union. Currently, the parties are working on the text of the document which is planned to be signed in the 1st half of the current year. The sides have also discussed the possibilities of economic cooperation between the integration organizations such as the Eurasian Economic Union and the Pacific Alliance (Alianza del Pacífico) which includes Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico. It should be noted that earlier similar promising opportunities were discussed between the EEC and the leadership of the Republic of Peru.
