Pope Francis slightly improved: Kidney failure resolved, pneumonia evolving normally
The clinical conditions of Pope Francis in the last 24 hours “have shown a further, slight improvement”. This is what the Vatican press office reports in the usual evening bulletin on the Pope’s condition, Agenzia Nova reported.
“The slight renal insufficiency found in recent days – continues the bulletin – has subsided. The chest CT scan, performed yesterday evening, showed a normal evolution of the pulmonary inflammation. Today’s blood tests and haematological tests confirmed yesterday’s improvement. The Holy Father continues high-flow oxygen therapy; today too he has not had asthmatic respiratory crises. Respiratory physiotherapy continues. Although there has been a slight improvement, the prognosis remains reserved. During the morning the Holy Father received the Eucharist. The afternoon was dedicated to work activities”, concludes the Vatican press office.
The pontiff can stand up and even uses the armchair in his room on the tenth floor of the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome. Vatican sources reported. This morning the Holy See Press Office announced that the Holy Father “spent a peaceful night”.
Earlier it was reported that Pope Francis had been hospitalized for ‘complex clinical situation'.
