Policemen of Karaganda donated blood for traffic crash victims
KARAGANDA. November 15. KAZINFORM Karaganda policemen donated 15 liters of blood for the victims of road accidents, reports the Traffic Police Department of Internal Affairs.
The action on blood donation for the victims of road accidents involved 30 police officers, administrative management of the area and the road patrol policemen. The event was part of a major Republican campaign "Road Safety Week " on the eve of World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, says the press service of the department.
So far 889 accidents have been recorded, in which 213 people died and 1,094 were injured to varying degrees.
World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, established by the UN General Assembly, is celebrated every year on November 17. In the streets of Karaganda in the coming Sunday there will travel a column of black cars in memory of those killed in road crashes. Drivers are also asked to show solidarity and support to drive that day with the dipped beam, and in the afternoon to blow the whistle on their cars all at the same time.
In addition, under "Road Safety Week " there have been organized children's art contests, creative works of young people in social advertising. There will also be a summing up of the competition for the best driving school.
