Policeman who ran over 2 students in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk charged
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, July 23. KAZINFORM Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the senior district detective officer who earlier this month ran down two students in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, under Article 264 part 6 of the RF Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of two persons through negligence); Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
On July 18, the intoxicated officer when driving a car along a street in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk lost control of the vehicle and rode to the wayside running over two young people. One was 18 and another - 22.
Both died on the spot of injuries. According to a version of the investigation, the suspect was speeding. The students killed in the road accident came to Sakhalin from the Primorye Territory for work during the fishing season; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
