Poland remains biggest apple producer in EU in 2013

WARSAW. August 20. KAZINFORM - In 2013 Poland will continue to be the European Union's biggest apple producer, according to the World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA), Xinhua reports.
Based on WAPA's data, in 2012 Poland harvested 2.9 million tonnes of apples, followed by Italy and France. The figure will rise to 3.2 million tonnes, according to the WAPA.
Across the EU, apple production will amount to nearly 10.8 million tonnes, up 7 percent on 2012. World-wise Poland is the third largest apple producer after China and the United States with.
