Speaking on Radio Zet, the president said that remembrance of the 96 victims should unite rather than divide the living. The Sunday pilgrimage was an expression of unity of the victims families, he stressed.

Families of the victims of the plane crash went to the site of the catastrophe to pray and lay flowers on Sunday, six months after the disaster.

The group of over 170 people was accompanied by Anna Komorowska, wife of the Polish president. The ceremonies were also attended by Svetlana Medvedeva, wife of Russian president Dmitri Medvedev; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
