Poachers shooting Red Book birds detained in Karaganda rgn

KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM - Police detained poachers shooting Red Book birds in Ulytau districts of Karaganda region.
According to regional IAD, on August 30 the environmental police officers, together with the inspectors of Ohotzooprom detained a 36-year resident of Zhezkazgan who was driving Toyota Land Cruiser-100. There were two passengers, residents of Zhezkazgan too. In the trunk of the car police officers found and confiscated two carcasses of birds, presumably, pin-tailed grouse, listed in the Red Book. Moreover, officers seized unregistered weapons - "SCS" carbine 7.62 mm, 12-gauged double-barreled hunting rifle "IL-27". The investigation is underway.
