PM chaired sitting of Supreme Scientific-Technical Commission

ASTANA.  July 28. KAZINFORM The Supreme Scientific-Technical Commission under the Kazakh Government has held its regular session in the Ukimet Uyi today. The sitting was chaired by Prime Minister Karim Massimov.

As the PM's press service informs, the sitting was attended by the representatives of state bodies, International Expert Council and scientific organizations. 

Issues regarding further reforming science in the Republic of Kazakhstan were on agenda.

Vice Prime Minister Yerbol Orynbayev made a report on the results of activity of the working group on this issue.

According to him, the reform of science aims at provision of favorable conditions for the development of the national innovation system. Key directions have been determined:  implementation of grant system of financing scientific projects; determination of base financing of scientific organizations through state tasks; establishment of a system of state scientific-technical expertise; formation of scientific councils on priority directions; development of university science.

The members of the Commission approved the approaches.

PM charged heads of authorized state bodies to develop the submitted propositions for final consideration.
