PM chaired regular sitting of Directors Board of Astana New University JSC
ASTANA. June 10. KAZINFORM A regular meeting of the board of directors of Astana New University JSC has been held today in the Ukimet Uyi under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Karim Massimov.
The meeting participants approved the rules of admission to a preparatory center of the University, the composition of its International Advisory and Industrial Councils as well as other issues regarding the activity of the University.
The opening of the new educational institution is scheduled for June 28, 2010. Partnership agreements with the leading international universities - future partners of the university will also be signed on this day. 3, 000 school graduates have already submitted their applications to the University. Only 500 of them will be selected
The New University of Astana is established on the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev for developing education in our country and entering the international level of science and forming scientific and technical elite of the country. This University is called to educate a new generation that would be able to carry out the 2020 Strategy of development of Kazakhstan. The University will also help Astana turn into a scientific and cultural center of Eurasia with competitive human resource.
