Plans for 1st Preparative Conference of OSCE 18th Economic-Ecological Forum discussed in Astana
ANA. September 4. KAZINFORM. Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kussainov met with the delegation of the OSCE Center in Astana headed by Ambassador Alexander Kelchevsky yesterday; Kazinform refers to the Ministry's press service.
Chairman of the Customs Control Committee Kazy-Korpesh Karbuzov attended the meeting.
Minister Kussainov noted that the OSCE is the largest regional security organization uniting the countries of North America, Europe and Central Asia. The OSCE has a universal approach to the problem of security including economic and ecological aspects. Election of Kazakhstan to chair the OSCE in 2010 reflects growing authority of our state on the world arena. The priority of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the second economic and ecological dimension of the OSCE is the development of transport potential of the OSCE member states and transcontinental transport corridors.
October 2009 Astana will host the First Preparative Conference of the OSCE 18th Economic-Ecological Forum.
The parties discussed the issues of preparation for the conference and action plan on elimination of nonphysical barriers that was developed during the roundtable held on August 11, 2009 by the Ministry of Transport and Communications together with the OSCE Center in Astana.
A draft agenda of the First Preparatory Conference of the 18th Economic-Ecological Forum was considered at the meeting. The sides agreed to ensure mutual support in preparation for the conference.
