Placido Domingo's ever first concert in Central Asia takes place in Astana

  Placido Domingo has arrived in Astana today and has already got acquainted with Kazakh music, hospitability and the beauty of Astana. He was present at the press conference with winner of the youth performers competition initiated by Domingo - Virginia Tola. The process of getting ready for the trip to Astana was mysterious and exciting to the Italian singer, as he said. «We have visited a lot of countries, but every time we meet new spectators. There comes an unusual moment of truth, you open up and let the audience perceive your art», - he said. 

«I have heard of your country from my colleagues. And I was enthusiastic to have this visit. Having arrived in Kazakhstan and heard your music and performance of Kazakh songs I conceived how deeply and harmonically your music is embeded in your culture», - Placido Domingo said. 

The foreign singer also expressed wish to get to know the Kazakh traditions and customs in order to get imbued with your national culture. 

Traditionally Placido Domingo performs songs in the language of the inviting country, and Kazakhstan is not an exception, he said. 

Finishing the press conference maestro performed an extract from a popular song that he used to sing from his childhood. 

For information, July 5 at the Independence Palace Placido Doningo will perform his ever first concert in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The Italian tenor will perform together with Virginia Tola accompanied with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Astana.
