Pilot dies as light aircraft crashes in south Russia

MOSCOW. June 12. KAZINFORM The pilot of a light aircraft was killed on Saturday when his plane crashed in south Russia's Rostov Region, the regional emergencies ministry said; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

"The incident happened at 12.30 p.m. [08:30 GMT] during the spraying of farmland. A SV-32 plane crashed," a spokesperson said.

The pilot's cabin burst into flames when the plane hit the ground.

An investigation is ongoing.
