Pharmaceutical plant to be built in Astana
ANA. October 30. KAZINFORM Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov has held a visiting session of the State Commission of the Economy Modernization of South Kazakhstan region in Shymkent today.
The issue of the development of the pharmaceutical complex within the forced industrial-innovative development of the country was discussed at the session. Kazinform offers its readers reference data on organization of production of the pharmaceuticals in the country (vaccines, insulin, antibiotics and others). In accordance with the Decree of the Government "On approval of the list of investment strategic projects" the construction of pharmaceutical manufactory in Astana is provided.
Today "Khimfarm" JSC is carrying through the project on construction of workshop on tableted pharmaceutical forms production in special economic zone "Astana - new city".
The project will be financed by "Kazakhstan Development Bank" JSC. The Program on modernization of the blood service of Kazakhstan for 22008-2010 provides construction and putting into operation of a blood plasma plant in Astana, meeting the GMP requirements.
The volumes of investments to the plant's construction are up to USD 60 mln. The estimated capacity of the plant is up to 200 thousand liters of plasma per year.
Establishment of insulin production in Kazakhstan is negotiated with the representatives of American pharmaceutical company "Eli Lilly".
