Perspective directions of trade-economic coop of Kazakhstan and Luxembourg defined
BRUSSELS. April 22. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Perspective directions of trade and economic cooperation of Kazakhstan and Luxembourg were defined at the meeting of Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, the EU and NATO Yerik Utembayev and Director General of Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce Pierre Gramegna.
P.Gramegna highly appraised the efforts of the leadership of our country on stabilization of the national economy. He noted that the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce can be a key partner of Kazakhstan in trade, economic and investment spheres. The Head of the Chamber was interested in proposal of the Kazakh Ambassador on signing cooperation agreement between the commerce chambers of two states.
The Head of the Chamber paid special attention to cooperation in banking sphere, noting that to date over EUR 2 trln are accumulated in the Luxembourgian banks. In this context he was interested in opportunity of opening of branch offices of Kazakh banks in Luxemburg.
The sides defined the satellite communication, biotechnologies and medicine, methods of struggle against cybercrime as perspective directions for cooperation aimed at diversification of the relationships.
Ambassador Y.Utembayev suggested holding of a range of business forums and workshops and spoke for establishment of industrial-innovative business council "Kazakhstan-Luxembourg" in order to activate the mutually beneficial partnership.
The Head of the Luxembourgian Chamber complimented the effectiveness of the visit of Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker to Kazakhstan in June, 2008 which he took part in together with 35 representatives of the biggest companies of the country. He noted that meetings with President N.Nazarbayev and Prime Minister K.Massimov held in Astana as well as the business forum in Almaty increased the Luxembourg's interest in Kazakhstan.
