People with disabilities represent 3% of the population, Kazakh Minister

TANA. October 24. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "The number of the people with disabilities represents 3% of the country's population," Labor and Social Protection Minister Gulshara Abdykalikova told today the Governmental Hour at the Kazakh Majilis.
"Protection of the rights of the persons with disabilities is one of the key issues. Currently, the country numbers above 560,000 of disabled people, including 58,000 of children. The disabled accounts for 3% of the country's population," the Minister said. "Today Kazakhstan focuses on the improvement of the living standards and social rehabilitation of the disabled people. The 1st stage of the welfare reform will xome soon to an end," the Minister added.
