Paul Beaudry and Pathways performed at Shabyt Arts Academy in Astana
ASTANA. October 15. KAZINFORM Paul Beaudry and Pathways, a jazz quartet from New York performed as part of the U.S. State Department's cultural program, Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad from October 6-12 in Aktobe, Pavlodar, and Astana.
The quartet opened the Aktobe International Jazz Festival and performed before full houses in Pavlodar and Astana. In addition to jazz standards, the band played original compositions inspired by New York and their international travel and added a traditional Kazakh folk song "Kamazhai" into their jazz repertoire. The musicians also conducted master classes with music students and met with general audiences in each city. Paul Beaudry and Pathways will also perform in Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh and India in this tour, the press service of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan said.
