Paul Beaudry and Pathways Jazz Quartet visits Kazakhstan

ASTANA. October 10. KAZINFORM Paul Beaudry and Pathways, an American jazz quartet from New York, tour Kazakhstan October 5 -12, performing in Aktobe, Astana and Pavlodar. The tour is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan under the auspices of Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Paul Beaudry and Pathways will also perform in Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh and India in this tour.

Paul Beaudry and Pathways is a quartet of musicians from New York City whose music is steeped in the jazz and blues tradition. Originally from San Francisco, Beaudry is a bassist, composer, producer, vocalist, and educator who is now making great strides on the New York jazz scene. Kazakhstani music students will have an opportunity to learn more about the band and their unique music in master classes and outreach events that will be conducted in each city, the press service of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan reports.

In Astana, the quartet will perform October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Palace of Arts Shabyt, at the Kazakh National University of Arts (Independence Ave, 50, Tel: 8 7172 70-55-01).
