Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to consecrate Uspensky Cathedral in Astana

As was earlier reported, the visit program of the Patriarch was changed because of weather conditions. According to the Kazakh MFA, consecration of the Uspensky Cathedral, which the Patriarch should hold on Monday morning, January 18, will be carried out on Sunday, January 17.

Then Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill plans to leave for Almaty, where he intends to make all-night vigil in the Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Divine Liturgy at the Svyato-Voznesensky Cathedral and take part in a wreath laying ceremony to a glory memorial in the Panfilov Park (park of the 28 Guardsmen).

As is expected, the Patriarch will hold a meeting with the public in the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Bullet named after Abay in Almaty.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill arrived in Kazakhstan at the invitation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
