Partnership with UN is one of main priorities of Kazakhstan's foreign policy

ASTANA. August 28. KAZINFORM  Friday Vice-Speaker of Senate of Kazakhstan's Parliament Mukhambet Kopeyev had a meeting with Special Representative  of UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Center on Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Miroslav Jenca, Senate press service reported.

During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of interaction between Kazakhstan and regional center of the UN, and the forthcoming chairmanship of Kazakhstan at the OSCE in 2010.

Partnership with the UN and further expansion of the Organization's presence in the region is one of the priorities if Kazakhstan's foreign policy, Kopeyev said. He spoke for close interaction with the UN regional center and neighboring countries for solution of topical challenges.

Miroslav Jenca highly appraised the leading role of Kazakhstan in the region and pointed out the contribution of Kazakhstan to formation of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia.  He also emphasize that the Center has established partnership relations with the all the countries of the region. The regional institute is working to prevent any kind of conflicts and to ensure harmonic development of Central Asian countries.
