Participation of Chinese, Indian and Pakistani parliamentarians in Trans-Asian Forum to promote dialogue on Eurasian space - Senate Speaker K. Tokayev
ASTANA. February 18. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Participation of the Chinese, Indian and Pakistani parliamentarians in the Trans-Asian Forum Eurasian Dimension of the OSCE will promote detailed and all-round exchange of views on the issues of security and economic development on a wide space of Eurasia. Chairman of the Senate, Vice Speaker of the OSCE PA Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has said it at a session of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.
Addressing the members of the Council, Tokayev reminded of holding the Trans-Asian Forum of the parliamentarians on May-14-16 in Almaty city (Kazakhstan). The event will be organized under the aegis of the Kazakh Parliament and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
"Participation of our Central Asian partners in Almaty forum can significantly contribute to strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue and regional cooperation", the Speaker highlighted.
Having informed his colleagues of the agenda of the Trans-Asian Forum, K. Tokayev called on the parliamentarians to appeal to the leaders and governments of the OSCE member countries to hold the OSCE summit in 2010.
A parliamentary delegation headed by K. Tokayev arrived today in Vienna for participation in the Winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
