Participants of Steppe Eagle-2009 exercises paid tribute to dead soldiers
ALMATY. September 25. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ On the occasion of closure of the Steppe Eagle-2009 International Peacekeeping exercises the militaries laid flowers to the Memorial of Glory in Almaty Park of 28 heroes-panfilovs.
Commander of Ground Forces of the US Central Command Lieutenant General William Webster and Commander of Airmobile Troops of Ground Forces of the Kazakh Armed Forces Major General Adilbek Aldabergenov laid the flowers to pay tribute to the warriors.
"The exercises were closed yesterday. We reached the goals set prior to their beginning. Issues of conducting peacekeeping operations were worked out. Today we are participating in a cultural program. According to the British soldiers' traditions, they lay flowers to dead fighters wherever they are", A. Aldabergenov said.
