Pakistan tells US security checks not acceptable
ISLAMABAD. January 16. KAZINFORM. Pakistan told the United States on Friday that its security checks targeting Pakistani travelers to the US among 14 nationals is not acceptable and that America's regional anti-militancy campaign is hurting Pakistan's economy; Kazinform refers to Arab News.
The views were conveyed by both the government and opposition parties to visiting US point man for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke.
Holbrooke held a breakfast meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam's Fazlur Rehman, Pakistan People's Party's Fouzia Wahab and Khurram Dastagir of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) among other opposition politicians.
Tahmina Daultana of PML-N said Holbrooke became angry when the Pakistani politicians started criticizing America during the meeting.
