PACE President and Sec Gen met with Kazakh parliamentary delegation in Strasbourg
BRUSSELS. October 6. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Within the framework of a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg a Kazakh delegation headed by Vice Speaker of Senate Alexander Sudin and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium and Luxembourg Yerik Utembayev has met with PACE President Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Secretary General of the Assembly Mateo Sorinas.
The issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects of development of further relations between the Kazakh Parliament and PACE were discussed at the meeting. The sides expressed satisfaction with the current interaction. They touched upon the topic of the upcoming OSCE Summit in Astana. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu noted that the historic decision on holding the Summit is Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's merit and emphasized that the Head of the State is not only a leader of Kazakhstan, but the whole Turkic world.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu highlighted an important role of Kazakhstan in the field of strengthening tolerance, maintenance of peace and concord.
Today Kazakhstan cooperates with the Council of Europe and its structural subdivisions in Strasbourg. One of the key directions is interaction within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the PACE and Kazakh Parliament in 2004.
