Over 83,000 AIDS carriers registered in Iran

TEHERAN. August 29. KAZINFORM At present, there are 83,000 people are carriers of the AIDS virus in Iran, while in 2007 this figure amounted to 80,000 people, the head of the office on AIDS of the Iranian Ministry of Health, Abbas Sadagat, said, Kazinform refers to Tredn News.
Sadagat also said that the programs are implemented in prisons and public places to reduce cases of infection in Iran, as well as propaganda on sale and use of drugs is being held. These programs are implemented in accordance with the requirements of both international health organizations, and the joint UN program aimed to combat with AIDS, Kazinform cites Trend News.
