Over 60,000 vaccinated against measles in Almaty region

More than 60,000 people have been vaccinated against measles in Almaty region. Of them, 6,000 are children aged from 6 months to 1 year, Kazinform News Agency reports.
In November, the region launched additional mass immunization of children aged from 6 months to 1 year and from 2 to 6, as well as medical employees and all those who missed their planned vaccination.
The region has registered more than 4,000 measles cases, including 2,000 confirmed ones. High incidence rate is recorded in Karassai, Enbekshikazakh, Talgar, Ili districts. The majority of those infected are children under 5 (71%).
