Over 4,000 saiga antelopes found dead in Akmola region

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Mysterious mass die-off of saiga antelopes continues in Kazakhstan. Over 4,000 saiga antelopes were found dead in Akmola region over the weekend.

According to experts, as of today the number of dead endangered antelopes has topped 4,293 in the region. The regional emergency department has formed a special group that locates and buries the fallen animals in Zharkainskiy and Zhaksynskiy districts.

It is believed that pasteurellosis is causing the mass die-off in Kazakhstan.
