Over 3 000 St. George ribbons and signs handed around in Astana to celebrate Victory Day
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - On the eve of the most exciting and popular holiday, Victory Day, a lot of patriotic campaigns are held in the capital, veterans are honored, people remember hard war years and celebrate that long-awaited victory. Young people of the capital are also involved, and they have held an annual campaign distributing St. George ribbons and signs Im a descendant of heroes.
Every year Astana city akimat organizes distribution of festive ribbons confined to Victory Day, and this year they are special: they are with symbols of Kazakhstan, with our Kazakh ornaments, blue color of the flag with the symbol of the Order of Victory. Distribution of these ribbons is aimed at education of patriotism among the youth, so that they would remember and respect the past, the event organizers told astana.kz.
During the campaign more than 3 000 festive ribbons have been distributed among residents and guests of the capital. People were glad to get these ribbons, attaching them to their clothes. Its a very good campaign, and it reminds us of this great holiday, its very good that attention is paid; our generation remembers everything, but we have to remind young people about it.
