Over 200,000 people into national sports ? T.Dosmukhanbetov

ASTANA. June 8. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The 2011 Asian Winter Games will promote Kazakhstan?s image on the Asian continent, development of winter sports infrastructure and tourist flow into the country. Kazakhstan Minister of Tourism and Sport Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov announced it in his report at the Governmental Hour.
Outlining the Ministry?s goals for 2009 Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov spoke about promotion of tourism in Kazakhstan; preparation and conduction of the XVIII session of the UNWTO General Assembly, at which the key issues of the world tourist policy will be discussed, and the UNWTO Secretary General will be elected; and development of the world class tourist center on the coast of the Kapshagai Reservoir.
The Minister noted that the national sports ? kokpar, togyzkumalak and etc. are actively developing in Kazakhstan. Over 200,000 people are engaged in these sport activities.
