Over 17 bln tenge from returned assets set for new stadium in Astana
A decision has been made to allocate 17.3 billion tenge from the Special State Fund for the construction of a new Kazhymukan Munaitpassov Stadium in Astana, which will replace the old one, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the Kazakh Government.
The Central Stadium named after K. Munaitpassov was originally built in 1936. The old structure has now been fully dismantled due to safety concerns. The Government has stated that the new stadium is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
"The sports facility will boast 3,598 seats, including spaces for individuals with reduced mobility. It will be built in accordance with UEFA's international standards. Once completed, the stadium is set to be handed over to the Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 8 in Astana. The new stadium will primarily be used for training sessions, improving the training process, providing optimal conditions for athlete preparation, and boosting their performance," the message reads.
To date, more than 82 billion tenge has been allocated from the Special State Fund for the construction of 16 key social infrastructure projects across regions of Kazakhstan. These include seven schools, one of which is a music school, two sports complexes, a multi-functional hospital complex, an emergency medical service station, a special social services center, a dormitory, and two kindergartens. Additionally, funds have been channeled towards the construction and modernization of water supply systems in the Aral district of the Kyzylorda region.
Earlier, a new sports venue was set to appear on the map of the Kazakh capital.
