Over 1 500 excellent students to receive additional educational grants
ANA. September 2. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Minister of Education and Science Zhansseit Tuimebayev has awarded certificates for additional educational grants to the rectors of 65 universities today.
"The Head of the State pays particular attention to the development of education and science. By the results of winter semester we provided educational grants to those excellent students who studied on a fee basis. Now our commission decided to give additional grants by the results of the summer exams", the Minister said.
Following the first sitting of the National Commission 9 975 students were given additional grants in spring. By the results of the summer exams 1 525 students will receive educational grants. In whole 11 498 additional grants were given to excellent students in 2009.
The holders of the additional grants will also receive scholarships to the amount of KZT 10 781.
As earlier reported the additional educational grants are allotted by the instruction of the Kazakh President for the support of the excellent students studying on a fee basis.
