Outstanding Kazakh singer Roza Baglanova passed away
ALMATY. February 8. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ People's Artist of the USSR, outstanding Kazakh singer Roza Baglanova has passed away at the age of 89 years in Almaty today. The funeral will be held on February 10 at Kensay cemetery of the city.
Yesterday President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev handed over the Presidential scholarships of the National Fund for Culture, Education and Social Programs Support and State Scholarships to the outstanding figures of culture and art. Roza Baglanova was among the awardees.
Roza Baglanova was born on January 1, 1922. She graduated from the Kyzylorda Pedagogical Institute. She had been a singer of the Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay since 1949 and later she was a singer in the Kazakh State Philharmonic Hall .
