Outgoing Kazakh PM Alikhan Smailov addresses Kazakhstanis

Dear Kazakhstanis! Today, the Head of State dissolved the government of Kazakhstan. Firstly, I express great gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the trust to head the Kazakh government in such a difficult time.

These two years were a turning point for the society. The Head of State initiated important political and economic reforms aimed at building new Just Kazakhstan.

The Government’s work was focused on the realization of these reforms and ensuring sustainable social and economic development of our country.

The coordinated actions of the Government and local executive bodies made it possible to achieve certain results.

Last year, the economic growth stood at 5.1%, all the main sectors demonstrated positive dynamics. Inflation was halved.

For the second consecutive year, the annual inflow of direct foreign investments stood at 26-28 billion dollars and was one of the highest in the past decade.

The assets of the National Fund surpassed 60 billion US dollars, increasing by 4 billion US dollars over the past year.

The rating agencies approved the country’s sovereign rating and investment stability.

I offer my heartfelt thanks to all my colleagues in the government as well as the deputy corps for the joint productive work.
