ASTANA. December 2. KAZINFORM /Arailym Temirgaliyeva/ The two-day Summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe continues its work in Astana. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan welcomed the participants of the high-level meeting being held at Astana Independence Palace.
"I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Astana Summit provides us with a unique opportunity. As many speakers have already said, the very fact of this open dialogue among the heads of state and government allows us to determine the future course of the Organization and coordinate our efforts. Our people are putting great hopes on us, in this connection I would like to ask the heads of the delegations to provide their executives with very clear information about the work done here and the Declaration from the Summit.
Our task is to reaffirm the fundamental norms and principles of the OSCE and to create a plan of action for the future to meet challenges. We must not lose this opportunity I express my hope that in many declarations we will be able to come to consensus as has always been our tradition. This is in interest of our Summit and in interest of all peoples and governments of the countries", the Head of State said.
