OSCE, UN, EU should unite efforts to help Kyrgyzstan

ASTANA. June 17. KAZINFORM OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev and Vice Chancellor, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Guido Westerwelle have held a telephone conversation today.

The parties focused on the situation in the southern Kyrgyzstan and the measures taken by the OSCE to provide assistance to the interim government of Kyrgyzstan, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.

The sides expressed great concern over the continuing instability in Kyrgyzstan and possible spread of the conflict in other regions of the country. The parties discussed the necessity of provision of consistent and targeted assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic by the international community. In particular, the framework plan developed by the OSCE, the UN and the EU covers four priority directions of support: public security, humanitarian aid, regional security and post-conflict rehabilitation and reconciliation.

K. Saudabayev and G.Westerwelle agreed on maintaining regular consultations about the situation in Kyrgyzstan in order to act more efficiently.
