KARAGANDA. December 4. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ The OSCE Summit in Astana became a significant event regarding approximation of East and West and different positions. Cardinal Secretary of State of the Holy See (Vatican) Tarcisio Bertone said it visiting Karaganda within his working trip.
'The Summit was organized at the highest possible level. It was really special event when the countries could listen to thoughts of the others, share their own ideas and plans. Despite some disagreements all those who participated in the Summit now has the example of such an event, of the negotiations held at this level in your country', T. Bertone said.
'Nursultan Nazarbayev gives example of being wise to the others', he noted.
'Mr. Nazarbayev was sincere. It was seen when he talked about the importance of the policy of any state in regard of interethnic and interreligious harmony. It is also very pleasant for me to see this respect for Catholic Church in Kazakhstan', T. Bertone added.
