OSCE Sec Gen Marc Perrin de Brichambaut: OSCE Leaders Summit to be fruitful
VIENNA. January 14. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe faces a delicate moment to date since there are new disagreements among 56 member countries, there is a tension in certain conflict areas, Secretary General of the OSCE Marc Perrin de Brichambaut has said in an interview to the Kazakh journalists.
"To my mind, at present we need a fair and a strong hand to manage the process rightly", the Sec Gen said.
Marc Perrin de Brichambaut says Kazakhstan has a huge valuable experience connected with its history, its policy and the activity of the country's leadership. "Moreover, for the first time in the OSCE history Kazakhstan introduces Eurasian approach and I consider it as valuable in the current geopolitical situation", he stressed.
"The Year 2010 will be complicated. All of us will have to exert every effort to achieve the aim Kazakhstan has set prior to its chairmanship namely organization of the Summit of the Organization in 2010. This idea receives more and more support from the OSCE member countries. I am confident, the Summit will be fruitful since it will promote the image of the Organization and will strengthen its potential", Mr. Brichambaut said.
