At the meeting O.Spenser lectured on the establishment, structure and activity of the OSCE and answered questions of the audience.

"Kazakhstan, as the OSCE chair, will be responsible for all activities scheduled for this year. The OSCE member states' Summit that is to be held in Astana this year will show how Kazakhstan fulfills taken promises and obligations. The Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum will be held in Almaty tomorrow. It is very important for us since it provides an opportunity to discuss all topical issues within the OSCE", O.Spenser said.

According to him, due to the efforts on maintaining security measures and democracy in the country Kazakhstan deserved attention, approval and positive response from the world community, thus receiving the post of the OSCE chair. As he said, these facts do not mean the absence of problems in Kazakhstan. "Problems exist and our main task is to help the country overcome them. First of all we must observe human rights and supremacy of law", the Secretary General said.

At the end of the meeting Rector of the University Serik Praliyev conferred the guest Honorary Professor title of the University.
