OSCE – good platform for discussing issues of countering terrorism – I. Rogachev
ASTANA. October 14. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Tough actions taken for the last a few years appeared to be effective although their effectiveness is limited.
Director of the Department on New Challenges and Threats of the Foreign Ministry of Russia Ilya Rogachev said it after the OSCE Expert Conference on Successful Strategies, Effective Policies and Best Practices to Prevent Terrorism on October 14 in Astana.
'Therefore it is necessary to take more rigorous measures than just tough action to counter terrorism. The task on preventing terrorism is very difficult in this regard, it has to be discussed at the international level so the Heads of the State could coordinate the approached to the problem. In this view, the OSCE is a very good platform for discussing this issue', I. Rogachev noted.
According to him the OSCE embraces all 'sides' of the security problem including political and social-economic ones.
