OSCE Conference on Tolerance and Nondiscrimination to be held in Astana
ANA. May 18. KAZINFORM Senior government officials, politicians and public figures from 56 OSCE member states will meet in Astana, Kazakhstan, for discussion of the issues of tolerance and nondiscrimination in the OSCE region.
Promotion of tolerance, nondiscrimination and intercultural dialog is one of the key priorities of Kazakhstan as the country which chairs the OSCE in 2010. The conference is aimed at assisting in execution of corresponding obligations and values within the OSCE; the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.
Special attention will be paid to the ways of struggle against intolerance and nondiscrimination due to religious and ethnic background.
Experts in the sphere of tolerance and nondiscrimination from the OSCE member states will share their experience in establishing mechanisms of interethnic and interfaith dialog.
