OSCE Chairman's Special Envoy held range of meetings in Bishkek
ASTANA. April 14. KAZINFORM Vice Speaker of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament, OSCE Chairman's Special Envoy Zhanybek Karibzhanov and Senate Deputy, OSCE PA President's Special Representative Adil Akhmetov met with Special Envoys of the UN Secretary General Jan Kubis, EU Special Representative Pierre Morel, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov within the observation mission of the situation in Kyrgyzstan on April 10-13, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Senate.
During negotiation of the issues concerning the coordination of further actions on strengthening of stability in the country the sides expressed readiness to assist in settlement of current problems.
A.Akhmetov met with leaders of the interim government, deputies of the dissolved Parliament, outstanding public figures, representatives of NGOs, diplomatic missions, international financial organizations and institutions, accredited in Kyrgyzstan as well.
The current political situation and situation in the field of security, including the necessity of provision of public security and legitimization of the interim government were discussed at the meetings.
The role of the OSCE on reconstruction of stability and security in Kyrgyzstan both in the nearest future and on-coming period is in rendering legal assistance, modernization of election legislation, holding of elections, further realization of international programs and projects in Kyrgyzstan.
The Organization has already rendered financial assistance to interim government, makes efforts on stabilization of the situation in the country.
The OSCE PA President's Special Envoy will report on the situation in Kyrgyzstan at the Bureau of the Pain Copenhagen on April 17-19.
